Demo of the prototype

Rules of the game:

The rules of the game are simple. Pick up items and throw them at ur opponent. If you hit youre opponent and he falls of the playfield you get a point.  If you got hit dont fall off the playfield but fall accidently off the other player gets that point if its  inside the time frame otherwise you yourself get minus one point. When the time reaches zero the player with the most points wins.

Changes from last week:

This week we worked on getting a demo of our game ready.  We have a new input system for the controlls adjusted the throwing mechanic and made the feeling of controlling the character overall better. the player now throws items from his hand instead of the center. also we froze the Y axis on throwing items so they fly over the field on the same height.


 we have  implemented a drop system the box spawner drops a box from the sky to the playing field that box contains 5 items 3 basic and 2 special items. 


The 3 basic Items:

  • Star Fish: If you hit another player with the starfish it just knocks the other player back.


  • The box itself: When you throw the box at another player and you hit the player or an obstacle the box spawns an item at the place of the hit.


  • Wrench:  When you hit antoher player with the wrench it just knocks the player back.


The 2 special items:

  • The waterbomb: When the waterbomb hits a player or an obstacle it knocks evrything back inside that radius. 


  • The goof juice bottle:  When you get hit with the goof juice bottle you controlls will invert for a period of time.

Shader progression:

Added a distance fade for our main shader which would mute colors and decrease overall detalization of the asset starting with the certain distance. It is made for not overloading the screen with too many details and maintain the focus on the battle arena.
